Kundalini Research Institute Level 1 Teacher Training Program as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Syllabus
This course, September 17, 2010 through May 2011, will provide you with a comprehensive and deep understanding of Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  In Level I you will become an Instructor and learn the fundamental principles and practices of Kundalini Yoga.  You will develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  You will practice teaching Kundalini Yoga in a practicum setting, participate in early morning Sadhanas (spiritual practice), and experience the powerful transformational energy of White Tantric Yoga. 

  • Students will participate in thorough explanations and experience of: asanas, kriyas, pranayams, mantras, the chakras, naadis, the naad, and the 10 yogic bodies.
  • We will discuss and practice extensively:
  1.      Kundalini Yoga Postures, Kriyas and Meditation
  2.      Diet for an effective yoga practice
  3.      Yogic Western Anatomy and Physiology
  4.      Yogic Philosophy and the origin of Kundalini Yoga
  5.      Humanology and 3HO Yogic Lifestyle
  6.      Role of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher
  7.      The art and science of relaxation, and foot massage among other facets of Kundalini Yoga.
     
The student will be well prepared to lead others in and explain the benefi ts of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

Teacher Trainers
This is a 220 hour course, including 180 hours of classroom instruction in a well-defined curriculum by trained, certified Kundalini Yoga trainers and 40 hours of assignments. You will study and practice on your own with close mentoring and guidance by your trainers. Local and nationally-known trainers will participate. You will earn fully accredited membership in the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association. (One year’s membership is included.)

Results
You will have the opportunity to deepen and broaden your personal Yogic practice, to be a different person when you complete this rigorous and challenging program. It is designed to turn the serious yoga student into a knowledgeable and confident teacher.

Utilizing the ancient and powerful tools of Kundalini Yoga, you will provide training in becoming one with your breath, your mind, your body and your soul. Your self-imposed limits will turn into landmarks on your journey towards your highest consciousness.

This program will supply you with the knowledge and awareness that will deepen your life experience, expand your confi dence, and enable you to uplift others towards a more peaceful, stable, strong and
stress-free life.

Through lectures, practice, discussion and teaching, you will understand how to teach Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, Postures and Meditations; the Role of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher; Philosophy and Origins of Kundalini Yoga; Yogic & Western Anatomy; and Humanology & 3HO Lifestyle.

IKYTA Membership
Membership entitles you to recognition in a professional international organization; a quarterly teachers’ newsletter; discounts on yogic products and a discount on the annual IKYTA conference.

Course Dates
The course is scheduled to begin on Friday September 17, 2010 and to end in May 2011.  The schedule will be set at the beginning of the course with input from all participants. Students must participate in all classes; make up assignments are required for absences.  Sessions are typically scheduled for twice a month. One or more weekends may require classes on Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday when we have visiting teachers.

Tuition & Enrollment
Course tuition is $2,100. Add 3% ($63) Paypal fee. Early enrollment (fully paid by 8/31/10) is $1,890.  Add 3% ($57) for Paypal fee. Currently enrolled full time college or high school student rate – $1,699 (Add $51 Paypal fee). Student cards showing full-time enrollment must be presented for verification of educational status.

Requirements
The KRI Teacher Training team reserves the right to grant KRI Certification based solely on their discretion and evaluation of each participant’s readiness to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher.

This evaluation is based on successfully meeting the KRI Teacher Training course requirements including, but not limited to:

  • Attendance at all classes  (Absentee Documentation is required for missed classes.)
  • Completion of a 40 day yoga set/ meditation, personal sadhana (yogic practice), 20 Kundalini Yoga Classes outside the Teacher Training course, and participation in one day of White Tantric Yoga
  • Current membership in IKYTA (This cost is included in course fees)
  • Full payment of course fees by April 1, 2011 
  • Participation in five morning sadhanas at a 3HO Kundalini Yoga Center
  • Proper personal representation of the Code of Professional Standards for Kundalini Yoga Teachers
  • Satisfactory practicum assessments
  • Passing grade on the KRI written exam

Reading – Required & Recommended
The Aquarian Teacher- Level One Yoga Manual and Level One Textbook ,as well as The Master’s Touch by Yogi Bhajan, are included in tuition.  These texts will be used by your trainers in practice, study and discussion.

It is recommended that you acquaint yourself, as part of your Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training, with one or more of the many texts examining yoga in general and Kundalini Yoga in particular. The 3HO Kundalini Yoga Center has an excellent selection of books, CDs and DVDs you may purchase.

 

Kundalini Research Institute Level Two Teacher Training Program as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Level Two is for those who have received Level One certification.  There are 5 modules that must be taken over at least a 2-year period.  Successful completion of all 5 modules is part of the requirements that lead to a Level Two Practitioner Certificate.

The 5 modules are:

1. Conscious Communication
2.  Authentic Relationships
3.  Mind and Meditation
4.  LifeCycles & LifeStyles
5.  Vitality
 

Each Module consists of 62 hours, including 50 hours of classroom and at least 12 hours of home study spread over 90 days. The Kansas City courses are conducted over two long weekends about one month apart - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 8:30 am - 6 pm.
